Vodka, It's Whats For Breakfast
Overheard at work the other dayTriple distilled vodka has a higher proof. It doesn't mean is has been filtered more than others. That process won't change the flavor.
So what is the benefit of that? Why higher proof? I would think taste is more important.
Yeah some Vodka makers say that it is better to have filtered vodka's to take all the impurities out (such as methanol, acetaldehyde, ethyl acetate, and fused oils) but some say the impurities give that brand its character and flavor (when discussing non-flavored vodkas) They mostly use charcoal, that is the best filter
All vodkas are relatively the same it is just all image & marketing that makes you believe they are widely different from one to another.
Oh
My new favorite drink (this came about with limited supplies in the liquor cabinet)
1 oz Citron Vodka
Fill with Grapefruit juice
splash of Pomegranate juice
the juice from a freshly squeezed half of a lime
salting the rim of the glass is optional
some bartenders might call this a variation of a Ruby Slipper
