Fetish: An object of unreasoning devotion or concern

I like to go to a certain discount department store called Shopko. Why? I am not sure- I have always like wandering those small town stores- Ben Franklin, Pamida, Shopko. The closest Shopko to me is River Falls, WI. Which isn't too far and since my BFF lives only like 5 miles from there. It is only a quick right turn off of the main drag. I get giddy thinking of wandering the discount isles. She thinks I am the weirdest person around. What is the big deal with Shopko? She asks. She told her mom that we were going there and even her mom got excieted. She didn't know there was a Shopko so close and wanted to come too. My poor BFF is completly puzzled by our near hysteria. But I ignore her ignorant comments. I need a new toothbrush. I LOVE their Shopko brand toothbrushes. It is difficult to explain, I can't put it into words. I just do. Bonus they are only .99 cents. She agrees to tag along. We decide we will cover every inch of the store gazing at all their discount "stuff" (Note: They aren't exactly giving this stuff away) We start near the exercise clothes and wander through the women's clothes. She spots a shirt she just purchased at Macy's and can't believe her eyes. It was on super clearance at Macy's and actually like $2 cheaper there than at Shopko. She thrifts for another one in a different color. I can tell she is starting to like Shopko. I find some running pants (no name) that I like and want to try on. We wander towards the back of the store and I find Nike running shoes relatively cheap but I decided not to get them. We meander through the store and she finds alot of "stuff" to buy. Unnecessary items. I find my toothbrushes and buy two 3pks. She raises her eyebrows and gives me a reassurance chuckle. (Because she knew if I didn't get those damn Shopko toothbrushes, the drive home would be unpleasant) And there I find a new Shopko fetish.........a fine point blue ballpoint pen. I am satisfied with my purchases and she encourages me to sign up for the Shopko Card. I asked if it was a credit card- Nope. Just a card that you save money on certain items. Wow- the air is crackling with excitement. I converted my friend into a Shopko lover too. She left $80 later and I left $30 later.........I love brushing my teeth with my new toothbrush.
