New Year Around the Corner

I don't necessarily like to make New Years Resolutions. Since I am always trying to improve something about myself. A work in progress. This past year I started running in May, not January. Even though the beginning of a new year is a good way to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. I do like to create Motto's for myself. A yearly self encouragement memo.

My Motto for 2007 was "Work Hard~Play Hard" a Steve McQueen quote.

My Motto for 2008 was "Sara's Year" I decided that I was going to make myself a priority which is unusual- since I tend to put my friends first before me.

Now I am not sure what my Motto for 2009 should be........

*first suggestion- "All Play and No Work"...... this might conflict with my goal of saving $6000.

*second suggestion- "Grab Life by the Balls".......this would imply that I would have energy like the Energizer Bunny and that seems impossible right now......I need some serious relaxation.

*third suggestion- "Slow and Steady Wins the Race".........this sounds good but a little too low key.

*fourth suggestion- "No Time to Lose"......this is very true but might instill bouts of anxiety for me throughout the year.

*fifth suggestion- "Believe and it Will Happen"......I think this is it.

What Would You Tell Yourself at Sixteen

I saw this question recently and began to wonder what would I tell myself.

**Like....don't be afraid to break some rules......(I was a mild rule breaker)

**Like..... don't talk yourself out of "far fetched" dreams..... (oh wait that wasn't until I graduated college- I was a big dreamer at sixteen)

**Like.... date more- I know some parents discourage dating but now as an adult I wish I had. Only to feel a broken heart earlier in life.....(but I still don't regret missing Prom....)

**Like....make your parents get you braces.......as an adult I can't stand my crooked teeth!

I am not sure if there would be anything else.....I like my journey so far even the messy inbetweens.

What would you tell yourself at sixteen?

Congratulations on your Retirement!!

I am congratulating my dad. Today is his last day at work. He is fully retired......he hopes. My dad has worked for the man for almost 50 years. I think he has earned this and deserves this. The doctors and staff gave him well wishes on his retirement and thanked him for his outstanding work. Many even said they felt honored to have worked with him. And all of them said they would miss him and hoped he would get bored with retirement and come back to work. With the economy the way it is.......it probably felt good that they would welcome him back with Wide Open arms but only as moonlighting cuz his full time job will be
R-E-L-A-X-I-N-G!

Here's to you Dad.....enjoy!
